The Family Mental Health Network (FMHN)was established in 1998 by members of groups one to nine of the 12 week education program that was part of the Intensive Family Intervention program offered by the Community Mental Health Clinic's Susan Scadding in Guelph.
The FMHN's current project is the distribution of FROM ROLLERCOASTER TO RECOVERY: A GUIDE FOR FAMILIES NAVIGATING THE MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEM IN WELLINGTON-DUFFERIN COUNTIES. This book, now in its second printing, has appealed to a wide variety of audiences, and provides two types of information. The first section of each chapter is written by individuals, families, and professionals who have experience with mental illness and mental health issues, and are able to offer information and advice from their own personal journeys. In addition, geographically-specific (i.e., Wellington-Dufferin) resources are laid out in the 'contacts and resources' section at the end of each chapter.
