Mental Health and Justice Services Presents:
“Mental Health, the Criminal Justice System, and You: Understanding the Process, and the People that can Help”
Published by the Kitchener Human Services and Justice Coordinating Committee, this booklet is an introductory guide to the criminal justice system. With special emphasis on the Region of Waterloo Mental Health Court, this publication is aimed at helping those with mental health issues who have been charged with a criminal offence as they navigate their way through the court process.
While it cannot replace the services of a criminal defence lawyer, it does provide basic information and a list of community resources that can help those with mental health issues.
